Lexus Problems
Dashboard Gauges May Be Hard to See Due to LED Problems
There are reports of LED problems in the dashboard gauges. The lights burn out, making the gauges difficult to see at night, and require replacement.
Check Engine Light Due to Failed Oxygen Sensor
The Check Engine Light may illuminate because a component of the oxygen sensor stops working. As a result the engine computer is unable to determine the proper ratio of air to fuel for the engine. Replacing the failed oxygen sensor should correct this concern.
Heating and AC Control May Fail Intermintently
There are reports of intermittent failures with the heating and air conditioning control. The digital display might fail or the control might fail to switch between heater functions.
Noise From Front Suspension
Higher mileage cars can develop creaking and groaning noises in the front suspension, particularly when coming to a quick stop. Inspection and replacement of any worn parts should correct this concern.
Excess Engine Oil Consumption
Sludge can build up in the engine because Lexus did not recommend frequent enough oil changes. Lexus will sometimes offer a discount on cleaning the engine if necessary. Owners who changed their oil every 3,000 miles did not experience these problems. This sludge build up can lead to excessive oil consumption.
Lexus Recalls (Recent)
Accelerator Pedal May Become Stuck in Open Throttle Position
The plastic pad embedded in the floor carpet may interfere with the operation of the accelerator pedal. As a result, it may become stuck in a partially open position. A stuck accelerator can result in unintended vehicle speed, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will modify the plastic pad in the floor carpet. No owner notification schedule has be set at this time.
Lexus GS350, Lexus GS300Floor Carpet May Interfere with Gas Pedal
The floor carpet cover may interfere with the accelerator pedal if its forward retention clip is not installed properly. As a result, the throttle can become stuck in a partially open position, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the carpet cover with a newly designed one. No owner notification schedule has been provided at this time.
Lexus RX330, Lexus RX400h, Lexus RX350Incorrect Calibration for ABS/VSC system
Thirty-two vehicles with vehicle dynamics integrated management (VDIM) may have the incorrect calibration for the hydraulic control valves. As a result, the right front wheel may not be controlled properly during ABS (anti-lock brake system) or VSC (vehicle stability control) actuation. This could result in increased stopping distances and/or a failure to adequately correct a vehicle skid, either of which increases the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the brake actuator to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin during August 2011.
Lexus RX350Warning Lights, Drivability Issues, and/or Stalling Due to Failed Hybrid Inverter Module
A module inside the hybrid drive inverter module may contain inadequately soldered transistors. These solder joints could fail under high electrical loads, resulting in illumination of various dashboard warning lights, drivability concerns, and/or engine stalling. If the vehicle were to stop unexpectedly, this would increase the risk of a crash. Owners will be notified in July 2011 if their vehicle is involved in this recall. They will received a second notice when parts become available. Dealers will inspect the hybrid inverter module production number to determine if the inverter contains the suspect transistors. They will replace any affected modules.
Lexus RX400hVarious Issues Due to Failed Crankshaft Pulley
The amount of adhesive applied between the inner and outer parts of the crankshaft pulley may be inadequate. If this is the case, the outer ring may become misaligned and/or not properly rotate with the inner ring, causing an abnormal noise and/or illumination of the Check Engine Light. In some cases, the power steering belt could come off resulting in a loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the crankshaft pulley and replace it if necessary.

Lexus Owners' Stories
3 questions:
cost of rear axle toe ring that causes the ABS to activate during normal braking
cost of diagnosis to determine the cause of the dashboard air bag light to blink on and off
cost of accentuator in the front left door that does not allow the remote key to lock that door
Yes, similar problems with my 2004 ES330. The acceleration hesitates, and when slowing down around 10-15 mph and not pressing gas paddle, the car jerk up the speed a little. The transmission is not functioning well. I had this problem when it was new, took to the dealership to have it examined, they said the transmission stays within the specs. Oh.. Well, over the years, I adjust my driving habits to get used to its behaviors.
I bought my Lexus from Lexus of Orlando and aside from some oil changes services I have always serviced at L of O. I have received very good service from them though, however, they are very expensive and now that the unit is rather old I would like to have it serviced at shops I can save some money on repairs but who are rliable and knwo how to repair this type of vehicle. Is there a realiable shop in Kissimmee, Fl I can use.

We have a 1990 ls400, 160k miles, the power steering pump leaks fluid into the alternator causing it to go out. We're replacing both items but, the instrument panel light is going haywire while this is happening. Does anyone know or have had similar issues & did the replacement of the alternator & power steering pump fix the problem with the instrument panel? Thanks for the feed-back.
