Dodge Problems
Ticking Type Noise From Exhaust Manifold Area
Exhaust manifold bolts commonly break, exhaust manifold gaskets should be replaced and replace bolts as needed.
Underbody Coolant Leak
Coolant leaks coming from the underbody on vehicles equipped with rear heat/AC are common. The underbody hoses should be inspected as part of regular maintenance. If you drive on roads where salt is prevalent the problem is generally more severe. Some 2005 models are involved in a special service action, no government recall was issued.
HVAC Air Flow Switching to Defrost When Accelerating
The AC/heater (HVAC) system may unexpectedly switch to the defrost mode when accelerating. This system is operated by engine vacuum and should be inspected for any vacuum leaks if this problem develops. There is also a revised vacuum check valve available to address this concern.
Odor from HVAC vents
Some vehicles may develop a musty odor coming from the HVAC system, Dodge has issued a cleaner/disinfectant and a coating for the evaporator designed to inhibit bacterial growth.
Noise in Front Suspension Due to Worn Sway Bar Bushings/End Links
Worn sway bar bushings or sway bar end links may cause a rattling or clunking noise from the front suspension during low-speed driving. Though not always the root cause, front struts are often replaced for this condition.
Dodge Recalls (Recent)
Right Side Power Liftgate Pinch Sensor May Fail
Certain vehicles may have been manufactured with a right side liftgate pinch sensor that does not function properly. As a result, increased force may be required in order to stop the power liftgate during its final closing stages. If the power liftgate were to close on an appendage, personal injury may result. Dealers will replace the right side liftgate pinch sensor to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M17.
Dodge Grand CaravanLoss of ABS/ESC Function Due to Overheated Fuse Box
These vehicles may lose anti-lock brake and electronic stability control system function due to an overheated power distribution center. This could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will relocate the ABE/ESC system fuse to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M10.
Dodge ChargerThe Low Beams and/or ABS System May Fail
On vehicles equipped with the police option package, the low beam headlamps could fail due to an overheated harness connector. ABS/ESC system function may also be lost due to an overheated power distribution center. This could lead to a loss of visibility and/or braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the headlamp jumper harness and relocate the ABS/ESC system fuse within the power distribution center to correct these concerns. The Chrysler recall number is M01.
Dodge ChargerRight Rear Hub and Bearing Assembly May Fail
The right rear hub and bearing assembly may not have been fully machined. This could result in decreased durability. A failed hub assembly could cause the wheel to separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the right rear hub assembly to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M13.
Dodge Grand CaravanTire Pressure Monitor System Calibration Error
The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) does not warn the driver when a tire is 25% below the recommend pressure. The recalled vehicles notify the customers when the tire pressure reaches 22psi rather than the required 24psi. Underinflated tires can result in overheating of the tire, which could lead to a blowout and possible crash. Dealers will reprogram the TPMS to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is L43.

I am the original owner and have 85k on the odometer. I love the power and styling of the truck, also since I am 6'5", the room in the drivers seat more than adequate. I have driven from East Coast to West Coast 6 times so far always hauling a loaded car trailer with no more than a blown tire along the way (air bags on the rear are a big help). In the 7 1/2 years I have owned the truck it has needed an EGR Valve replaced which was a simple job that required just a $60 auto store part and about 30 minutes of time to fix, gears under the seat replaced after 60k miles probably because of my size (and I like to play with the adjustment on long trips), and new shocks being replaced currently at 85k, which should have been replaced a long time ago anyway. My only gripe is the in town gas mileage which is on par with other 2004 full size trucks. When I drive carefully I can get about 14mpg in town. I love my truck and until something with significantly better gas mileage is released I will not be getting rid of it.
my '06 magnum which I bought used with 61800k had sat for about 14 months and seemed to run well when I test drove it but now the gas petal sticks and will rev to 4k for about 6-10 secs before returning to idle. I have sprayed the pedal arm where it looked like there may be a problem but no help. anybody experiencing a similar problem?
